Hello, today I present to you folks the ability to temporary disable spawners. I will get right into why I believe this should be added, and what this means exactly. To start off, I will define what I mean by "ability to temporarily disable spawners". -By this I mean all spawners come to a halt and don't spawn any creatures. This would not affect anything else. Okay, my reasoning behind this thread is practically auto-farm maintenance. By that I mean: -Adjusting your hopper system -Adding more chests -Or just change your whole auto-farm system and how things flow. This change would also not harm anybody. It could be there if you needed it maybe when you enter the command "/is". I am completely open to hearing what you guys have to say about this. Thank you ~Maffy Discord - maffy#0002
hey! I'm not really liking this idea. I think this can just result in overcomplicating spawners. if you dont want your spawners to spawn something, you can just pick up the spawner, and keep it in your enderchest/inventory until youre ready. Also, if the spawner spawns somethimg and you dont want 'em there they'll disapear in the ground items removal. hope this kinda adressed your points... and i it's readable (didn't check for typos. sh) Have a great day! ~puposaurus
What you said about picking it up. I am talking about large auto farms that have hundreds of spawners that you can't simply pick up.
If you just aren’t loading the chuck that your spawners are in then they don’t spawn anyway. I don’t really see a need for this idea to be implemented. Thank you for sharing your idea but I don’t personally think that there is any need to add this currently. It is easy to not over complicate things. Thank you.
i mean i also said that the mobs despawn when ground items are removed.. and also they stack, so it’s not like you’d have 300+ mobs roaming on your island overall still a -1
I still do not quite understand the reason for this feature to ever be added? Clear lag will remove all mobs and or any excess mob loot that hoppers are unable to collect.
Hey! Alternatively, I recommend that you simply block up the main loop of hoppers, just place a block where the mobs would drop through. This will stop the drops from coming into the system while you work on it. As said previously, It just over-complicates the general idea of spawners. Its also just a mess in the back end of coding this as well. Have a great day!
Hey Maffy1230, To add on to everything that has been said - adding a check for spawners to see if they have been disabled would add extra overhead to the server. When 20,000+ spawners have to check 'am I disabled' every time, it would simply add more and more calculations to the mob spawner code; which simply wouldn't be viable.
