    is there any particular reason why ip bans last half a year until you're allowed to appeal?
    I personally think that 6 months is too long of a break to still want to play. I know some people deserve it and should wait 6 months, but why 6 months? That long of a wait to still come back with the same attitude/motivation to play. Let me know what you think below.
    Sorry if this was the wrong thread I didn't know where else to post/ask this question.

    Hey there!
    If you've been false IP-banned you're allowed to appeal before the 6 months, but if it is 100% legit you can't appeal until 6 months time as you said. The time seems absolutely reasonable to me because you would have had to do very bad things to earn an IP-ban. I can't see the length of 6 months changing because it seems pretty fear. If you are speaking from experience I encourage you to take a look at the rules and be careful not to let this happen again.

    Yeah, sadly I am speaking from experience :(. I was flying in pvp (as a joke but I know it's still a horrible thing to use a hacked client in game) and then 2 hours later, I got ssed and admitting to autoclicking. My knowledge of the rules are sufficient, but my autoclicker wasn't opened for 13 days. ONE day before the 2 week cut off. In total, I shouldn't have hacked in the first place, I just really don't want to wait 6 months to appeal because I'm trying to play Prison Season 8 at the start :(. All in all, thanks for your reply, I just wish I didn't have to wait to play my favorite server.

    I agree six months feels like a super duper long time, but in my opinion just saying sorry doesn't really fix the many experiences you could've potentially ruined on the server. I get exploiting might be fun, but you gotta remember about all the legit people who work hard and actually play and have skill, you could've ruined stats or just ruined somebody's day. I think the ban is pretty reasonable like Tears said, and it's good to see you feel remorse for what you did, good luck on getting un-banned, and I hope to see you on the server on day!

    I Agree That 6 Months Is Too Long, But Hackers Aren't Wanted In The MCC PlayerBase And The Longer The Ban The Better

    A lot of people may say that it is too long of a ban. But, this is the definition of a ip ban:
    Having two (or more) accounts banned on the server simultaneously under the same IP, for any of the following offense:

    * Severity 3 Gameplay Offenses

    * Severity 2 Client Modification Offenses

    * Severity 3 Client Modification Offenses

    * Insiding on Factions
    The player has broken the rules enough time where they get this punishment. I feel like the time on this punishment is super reasonable considering you've broken the rules this many times. You never know if they have truly learned their lesson, making this reasonable. I dont see them changing the length of ip ban punishment, and I feel like the current rule is fair and reasonable.

    When it comes to the judgement of long bans, if you're not stern and strong with your defense against people who do bad things, they will keep doing it. On the topic of 6 month bans when dealing with some severity 3 punishments, I believe the 6 months is a good ban to pay for what you caused. It gives you enough time to change and mature and hopefully come back a better person. I have been perm banned a couple of times and I recently stopped receiving punishments because not being toxic and not cheating is the key to not receiving these bans. This is just my input, anyone can disagree, but please take my minor points and experience into consideration.

    Hey!
    Although there isn't a reason particularly linked with the timing, the timing was chosen because the higher-ups of the server believed it was a good time for all the set rules and looking into a long time that it's been there, with of course a couple of changes here and there, it's been quite stable.
    I personally believe 6 months isn't too bad. As other's have said, this gives enough time for people to understand what they did and mature. This also is a fair punishment as it shows that someone decided to come back after they've already been punished.
    I think all the people have answered your question so I will lock the thread.
