A lot of people report hackers (generally in sky wars) by telling staff members on the mcc community discord in the channel #support. Wouldn't it be much easier if they could simply do /report (name), and then the staff team would be able to know where the player is and maybe watch hack they are using?

I took this idea from other servers that use this system, however, some people might say abuse could happen.
In that case, the player's permission of doing /report could be revoked and maybe another additional punishment.

Everyone is saying that a minigame revamp might come so I think this is a good thing to add when/if that really happens.

This has come up on the forums a TON and I'd like to tell you on why I disagree with this idea. First, to get this out of the way, I believe the current system for reporting hackers/exploiters is using the discord. By "report" I mean just reporting the incident with no proof. Now that I got that out of the way, discord is a good method because it's just a chill interface between the staff and user where they can tell them about their experience with the cheater and where they may go next. With the /report command it's more one sided and a LOT more formal, but you don't need that if your just getting someone looked over for their offense. That's about all for why I disagree with the /report command. They also give you the option to take the matter into your own hands and use the forums to physically report someone with evidence, if they didn't have this it'd be such a pain for both us and the staff team.

Initially I wanted /report to be added but I agree with Devon. It really isn't all that necessary as we have quick access to support through discord. Also getting a staff member to help through /report wouldn't really be that much quicker than getting a staff member through discord as a lot of staff are active on discord. I personally think the reasons why the command isn't necessary outweigh the reasons why it could be considered necessary.

I came up with a good idea. with /report.

Lets say my friend TheKingOfTurtlez was hacking (He Doesnt hack). So I would do "/report TheKingOfTurtlez kill aura ssw" and all the names are put into a database. Where then a user can go into a GUI and see a bunch of reported people.

In the database. There is TheKingOfTurtlez, and Zeploin.

I find evidence on Zeploin hacking. I would press a button in the GUI Confirming it, then it would link it to a forum post to upload the proof.

I dont know i thought this was a cool idea.

Could I hear more about this because the "I find evidence on Zeploin hacking" doesn't make any sense to me. Do you mean you record the evidence or you saw them cheating and "upvote" the player for cheating. Im not trying to be mean or anything just curious.

So let's say in the database, Zeploin and TheKingOfTurtlez was in the database for kill aura on SSW. If I see Zeploin using kill aura and I record it, then in the GUI I can upload it to a forum link.

Pretty much when I have proof I can press a button (Like an upload button) and upload the video file for the staff members to see the proof that Zeploin was hacking.

(Zeploin doesn't use hacks on MCC his name was just for example.)

Wouldn't just using "report a player" on the forums be the same or easier? You'd have to upload the video anyway and using MCC websites interface isn't too difficult (Im not bashing you Im just asking a question on your opinion)

Yea but for the people who want to find and catch hackers, it can prove to staff that multiple people are having the same issue.

    Hi there,
This has been discussed to many times over the past few years and that this won't be implemented.
This is because some people (like me D: ) hackusate people who are really good at pvp and are legit so they would do /report and then when staff finds out they dont hack it would just be a waste of time. If this idea really does get implemented then there should be a sub team for this so it doesnt waste all of the staffs time.
    Thanks!
Have a lovely day or night.

    Hey,

I dont feel like this is a terrible idea, but I notice theres so many hackers right now because of quarantine, I feel like the hacker rate will slow down soon. So, that command wouldn't be as much needed. I feel like a lot of chaos would come out of this, false reports, it would be hard for the staff to keep up with all the /reports. I feel lkek the staff do pretty well getting them banned quickly. I think the system they have right now is good. So, -1

    Thanks,

I don't agree with your point. There always have been so many hackers, especially in sky wars. People have been complaining about it for years and the server lots a high amount of players because of it.
Just waiting until quarantine ends won't solve anything, of course, the numbers of hackers will decrease but it won't be enough since the numbers of players will decrease as well.

Still a lot of people don't know you can report players on discord, and also the command would be much easier and faster for staff members.
It would be basically the same thing but not requiring discord, which could make hackers be found faster. Also, a lot of people can't/are too lazy/ don't know how to record players and report them on forum.

That has been brought up several times and been denied by the staff team, as it’d be a pain in the *** for them. They already have minute and chat report requirements, if report requirements got added they’d have one more thing to worry about. I feel that we’re in a good place rn although a lot of hackers are playin. Discord works just like /report would, with even faster response times tbh. -1

i think the reason for why we cant do that is because there would be a lot of false situations (like the boy who cried wolf). also, the staff would have to listen to all the complaints everyone had which wouldn't be a lot of fun.
