Hi all- I wanted to bring a matter up which I think has many upset. I (like many others) often have to report players for violations in-game. Some of which, should be resolved by an internal system (Ex. Anti-cheat.) But recently, I have noticed a sub-par response time to reports. Now, I don't blame the staff at all, but rather the structure of the different teams. My suggestion is: Eliminate the reports team in general. Instead, allow helpers, who's main job is chat moderation, to handle reports of that nature, and mod and up to handle reports such as hacking and others miscellaneous in-game violations. I feel as if there were a greater number of people reviewing and judging reports, the overall quality, response time and efficiency of reporting players would be fantastic. Now, I'm not sure if anything like this has already been done and failed, but from my aspect as a longtime MCC player, I feel as if this would make sense. Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you!
I'd like to see this change happen but I wouldn't think it would. People can argue that helpers have there specific purpose just for that and they shouldn't take on more then they should. If helpers really could deal with this, and there current abilities, then they would promoted to mod. Instead, I would make it so staff would have to check discord when @'d frequently as one of the requirements, because I always see a lack of staff not answering anything in #support where most players report hackers. Either that or limit the amount of time the reports team have to do reports or set time stamps for the report team so each member is responsible for reports during a certain time period. I honestly think your way is nice but wouldn't be implemented but nice idea! I really do think something needs to be done about this as well and it's been bothering me a lot. Enjoy your day/night!
When you mention #support in discord for reports, I personally have a problem with that theory. Personally, I'd say pick one or the other regarding platforms for reporting. When they implement /chatreport, discord and the forums for reporting violations, I feel like they're worsening an already bad but recoverable situation. I have been a member here since 2014, and I feel as if the quality of report responses both in time and quality has decreased. But I agree, it probably won't happen, but for the sliver of probability that it may, I thought that I'd wage the idea. Stay well- Cessie2u
The thing with the reports team is they take special reviews to ensure they can detect hacking from a third-person perspective. Forcing all Mods to take these reviews would be somewhat useless, as there will still be Mods who don't want to check reports and the like. Helpers will never be allowed to deal with forums reports as it's not their job, their main focus is passing reviews and working with the community as part of their "mod trial". Helpers are also not trusted to mute off screenshots because there's the chance evidence may have been faked and Helpers cannot tell as easily. I see why this idea is appealing, but it's not going to happen. -1
Thanks for the reply! While I don't disagree with you, I still feel as if something needs to be done to ensure that the reports are handled in a timely manner. Whether it's this or something completely different, I don't care. I just want it taken care of. I'm sure that this will be resolved some way or the other. Stay well! Cessie2u
hey i dont see this happening ever LOL reports team isn't all completely made of randos, like, maybe some join just so they don't need to do chatreports, but to be in reports team MDOS need to go through another set of reviews aside form their normal ones as a helper and mod, meaning they'd have to pass their helepr rreviews and based off recent promotions, it's been proven that there are still some people who don't always ace the reviews right off the back. there isn't really a way to necessarily filter the hacker reports and chat reports in a report ticket EFFICIENTLY, and would really just be dumb if they used search bar n whatnot. With many helpers from promotions today, yes, there's a lot, but also theyre busy. they have irl lives other staff reqs to meet, and such..... so i don't think this would make report tickets get responded to any quicker.. this would prolly encourage helpers to constantly be @'ing reports team abt report tickets they see n such n i feel that theres some mods who dont even like getting @'d in the place where helpers can report players in the staff dsicord.............. there are even some helpers who false deny CRs and mos definetly some who false accept some which lead to false punishments given out, with report tickets, i feel that can just add more to their plate especially with the thing that helpers need to have evidence FOR EVERY MUTE they give, and if a player checks "no" for the evidence consent, they wouldn't be able to show any evidence in any way shape or form and it would lowkey be a failure to provide evidence for the player who got muted which would suck hella bad. i dont htink this touched all your points, but overall it's a -1 from me have a great day
Hi- I want to debate the points you made: 1) I never said that the report team is made of Randos... I feel as if they are all competent, but they are overloaded with tasks 2) With the current policies in place, you're right, it won't happen. -There is no need for a search bar. Do a drop down selection of some sort with the type of offense and have it add a tag like accepted and denied. Likely a very simple addition to that page's HTML script would do. - While I agree that helpers are not trained per say to handle reports, it could be something that they learn and are tested on before their promotion to moderator. 3) I agree 100% that they have other things IRL and this is essentially a volunteer position for them, but this suggestion is I feel as much to help them as it is to help us! I do appreciate your response! Thanks! Cessie2u
1) no, i said it, you didnt 2) i don't think xenforo works that way bud, or theyd have to make reports more of a hassle for players and thats overall just gay - lat year there was a rule that was put into play where evidence could only be accepted through a fprum report since there were some mods who were kinda loop holing how banning hackers was done and it just got messy, hence why it's like this now 3) no not at all, i can sense possibility for more false punishments since helper is considered a trial mod and not every scenario they encounter would be super crystal clear like white or black which is where things can get a lil mushy
