    Hey all!

Recently I've switched from bandicam to shadowplay (huge difference obviously). However, when I upload to youtube I feel like the quality is significantly lower than bandicam was.

    Bandicam example:
    Shadowplay example:

Maybe I'm wrong. Anyways I was wondering if anyone knows the settings I should use to optimize instant replay. My rig is:

    - geforce GTX 1660
    - intel i5
    - 8 GB ram

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You definitely have something wrong with shadow play settings as bandicam shouldn't be the better capturer, but this is a bit random, you're pc is kinda cpu bottlenecked (unless you have a 9th gen i5) and I would also recommend switching to 16 gb of ram (2x8) so your pc can run better and capture better as well.

Yeah, I figured that too especially since shadowplay looks a lot better before I upload it to youtube. Also when I built this PC 3 years ago I had no clue what I was doing :(
I do plan on buying another 8 GB stick soon, but in the meantime is there anything I can change setting wise that would increase quality?

Unfortunately, my pc doesn't support shadow play so I have no clue what setting you would have to change, I would just use bandicam bc it's really fast for uploading videos in semi decent quality for reports. If you're actually trying to make game play videos just stick to obs, it's the best for free, no water mark, and quality wise.

Thanks for all the help so far!
I'm just using it for reports but recently I had an issue where I couldn't even read a player's name when making a report.
I saw you mentioned my PC was bottlenecked, how can I fix this issue?

Well, that just means that your gpu is much stronger than your cpu and you're missing out on performance because you're gpu is only using like 50% of it's power. You would have to buy a whole new and better cpu and swap it out, if you were to do this you would probably receive 50+ more fps in-game.

    Hey there Tristan.

It seems as though the file was uploaded to YouTube as 480p, which is why it looks so bad. You may have accidentally set your recording settings to "Low." Check out this video: . It shows you how to record in 1080p (like your bandicam).

    Hope this helps.

Thanks, 89p! I have already tried messing around with those settings but it does not seem to be affecting much. I've always had it on high but I tried switching the resolution to 4k and this is what happened:

Not sure why it's like this even at 4k, I have a feeling it has something to do with the bitrate.

It looks perfectly fine on my end. Make sure you're playing the video back in 1080p/4K, as YouTube has been throttling video streams to 360p/480p to counter congestion as a result of the ongoing pandemic. Click the gear icon underneath the slider, then click "quality" and select the highest resolution available, then try playing the video back. This should fix the issue.

Wow, that's awkward. I feel dumb now haha. I knew it had to be a simple solution, thanks a lot that worked!
