Hi all! I am writing this thread to request that there be a heavier presence of staff in mini-games such as CTF and Survival Games. Frankly, I think that the staff are doing a great job but the general consensus is that mini-games are often overlooked. Every game, I always see someone using client modifications. I have been a member of this community since Lavacraft and I think I've only ever seen staff on mini-games once or twice. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hello! There has been some discussion for a while about staff being able to spectate minigames. I've never been a staff member before, although from what I hear, it's difficult to spectate. In some games, like CTF, you can't spectate, and in skywars, the staff member has to jump in the void first, which tells everyone that there's a staff member spectating. If hackers are smart, they will memorize the list of staff members and know when they can't hack. Hopefully, with the minigame revamp everyone says is happening sometime, they will pay attention to this and add some support for staff members so they can join a game unannounced. For now, though, all you can do is tell a staff member in #support or take a video and report it. There are more staff members in some minigames than others, namely skywars, because skywars has the most hackers. In games like CTF, it's less common for a staff member to be online, although sometimes they still join. There are less hackers in CTF, though, so staff members' time is better spent elsewhere.
Rather than spectating, maybe a staff command of some sort to summon the staff member to that server. There would be many issues to work out with that, but it's better than the current arrangement, as many players don't have the performance on their PC's to play and record at the same time. I think that staff should be able to spectate minigames but with an added command, the '/report (player) (reason)' If this was added, I believe that much less players would be hacking overall and staff could get to hackers much faster due to this command, allowing them to spectate the player, whilst reported. Yes, players might abuse the command itself but they could get punished for it. I don't see a single downside to this apart from helping out staff members, cleaning minigames. It is indeed hard for staff members to spectate players as they need to fit in the game that the hacking player is in and it does take up quite some time, at the end of the day. So, if a command like this one was to be added, it would benefit staff greatly. Have a great day!
Hey Cessie2u, I think it's really dependant on timezones. At peak NA times I have a staff member in almost every skywars lobby i'm in. However, at peak AU/NZ time there is a much lower number of staff members available. The /report command has been brought up in a lot before and I've always had the same stance on it. I feel like it's unnecessary. There is already #support in discord for those players who cannot record whilst gaming and then there if the forums for those players who can report. Adding a /report just adds another thing that staff have to watch whilst on the server. Although staff do have the ability to check where a player is on the network they do not have a command that allows them to teleport to hackers lobbies. I feel like a /spectate feature should be added or at least a /disguise feature to allow staff to hide themselves from hackers that have memorised the staff list. Hey there, I have seen lots of staff in mini-games and even helped a couple of staff member ban hackers. Staff do a great job on the server but sadly they cant stay in minigame lobbys all day and there are far to many hackers for staff to ban. I have seen a lot of people say that a /command should be a great thing to help out with hackers on the server, sadly people would abuse the command and it wouldn't be effective. This brings me onto my next point ANTI CHEAT. The server needs a good anti cheat right now not this summer or next year NOW. Theres a rumor that a new anti cheat is in the works but if the owners really cares they would just release an anti cheat next week.
