After many attempts of searching for wither skeletons, I happened to notice that there are really only zombie pigmen that spawn, and maybe some blazes? Does anybody know how I could actually make them spawn? Is it the version I'm using that makes this happen? Thanks.
You need to be in a Fortress in the nether and wait there. They also wont appear in plain sight so you might have to search inside the fortress too.
I’ve been playing survival a lot recently, I’m aware that the spawn rate for Wither Skeleton Skulls is actually pretty low. Especially since the subserver is set to Easy Mode instead of Hard Mode to allocate for newer, younger audiences. I’ll bring this back up with the administration team and see what can be done, appreciate the thread.
First of all, thank you for creating this thread. Secondly, there isn't any need to be hunting Wither Skeletons down as you are unable to spawn the wither in the survival subserver, but as previous people have mentioned, you have to be in a fortress, with you said you are, but you've got just to be patient about it, they're a 'rare mob' for a reason. Fox, I personally believe that there is no need to talk with the admins about this, as of my reasoning above about withers being unable to be spawned so the point in that wouldn't make sense. As the only thing that'd help you when killing the wither skeleton is coal and bones, and both items are way easier to find in the overworld. Again, thank you PapiApa for creating this thread.
It is impossible to spawn the wither in the plot world, but it is possible to spawn it in one of the resources worlds. I usually spawn them in /warp fb, but I've also heard people spawning them in /warp nether. Wither skeletons are rare, and I think the shared mob cap in multi-player makes them even harder to find. Killing other hostile mobs might be helpful. And I think mobs spawning near one player are affected by other players too. I set multiple homes at different fortresses, and when I need to farm for skulls, I try different locations. I usually stay at one fortress and walk around until 1 or 2 clearlag happens. If I see no wither skeletons the entire time, I go to a different fortress. If it's not happening for a couple of fortresses, I will come back at a different time. I was able to get a few wither skeleton skulls. I hope this helps, and have a good day/night :).
