Anti Cheat On the Server

do you have evidence that he was apart of the reason you got banned?

 

Yeah, I do, but it is was it is. I got banned he didn't, I don't want to fuss about it. I'll just wait the 6 months.

 

Dude if I were you, I wouldn't drop it so easily. He needs to pay for actions as well. Even though you knew about this, doesnt mean its all your fault. But if thats what you want its good :)). Well I hope your not to bored with this quarrntine,

 

It's already been like 2 weeks since it happened, so I think it's too late. If there is anything I could do still I will do it :). I really want to be staff and worked hard for it so I will do what it takes to get it asap.

 

Its never too late, trust me. I have made some bad decisions in my past, and owned up to it. I am assuming you share the same amount of passion and dedication that I also have to this server. I really want to work hard to become staff as well. Id love to help this server grow in anyway. I really hope you do get staff!

 

Ok, I understand peoples frustration with the anti-cheat being old, and it not working against hackers, but also thing about this. If you want a good anti-cheat like WatchDog (Hypixel) or something like that, it would take hours of coding from 10+ people, and will take a long time to set up, to give perms. It is also a lot harder to save the gameplay logs then it is to save chat logs. It is very difficult to make an anti-cheat, and I'm not saying that the anti-cheat is fine. It no way is it a good anti-cheat. It is kinda annoying at times, because you get kicked for advertising in the lobby when posting a link to the mcc website, and it's difficult to help out rookies who need help with finding things on the website. So an anti-cheat that worked better, and actually could detect hackers would be nice, but it will take long times to make. I think that if Alex and Vislo discuss this, they could start making one, and the anti-cheat would help their server tremendously, but then how would people get reports? Would they just have to screenshot and then report for chat offenses? There is just so many things to take into mind when thinking about this! Still a better anti-cheat would help.

 

An anti-cheat wouldn't mess with /chatreports at all. All it concerns is the kicking/banning of people with hacked clients. The current chat detection system in place is more than fine, and has been fairly effective in dealing with advertiser bots (which was the main concern before). You also can't completely guarantee a new anti-cheat will stop all hackers, so you shouldn't worry about normal reporting either. You're right about the time and effort needed to make an anti-cheat though. As far as I know, Alex and Vislo are the sole server coders after the disbanding of the developer team, so something which affects the player base so much shouldn't be rushed if they are indeed coding their own like they have in the past.

 

This is probably the one thing I will agree with you on, it would nessecarly be an "easy" fix, since it would take hours to code, but this wouldn't be a massive improvement

 

Let's be honest with each other.

This is like the millionth thread that has been made about this ever (in the entirety of MCC) and quite frankly it's something that the players will most likely just have to deal with.

It's not fair for people to come at the staff team because they can only do their best. In fact, they are essentially the only thing that is stopping the cheaters. So, at the very least, give them credit.

Whether MC-Central ever decides to crack down on the cheaters and implement a better anti-cheat system (many of them are out there) is quite frankly up to them. In my opinion, just because the players complain about it does not mean it will ever be resolved. (On going issue forever)

Personally, I don't see a TON of problems with mcc's system but I can see what your saying. They have a good report system but in terms of anti cheat, it could be better in terms of reach detection. Then again, staff is really active, and usually readily available. It can be annoying though when you're getting hacked on while waiting for help lol.

 

There's literally a hacker in every single game of sg, so I think a whole overhaul of the anti-cheat is in need. Cause with all these 13 and 14 year old new players coming in, they all want to try out hacks and they are ruining the game.
