Why do we reset things anyway? It seems kind of sad. We build some cool stuff and then have it all thrown away. What if we kept a backup of each island that each player can download and continue to enjoy on their computers?

    Hello!
I believe that if they reset the sub-server and people are still able to have their previous island, it'd be unfair to new players, and also, it'd eventually get bored. So resets are supposed to hype people and add new features, maps and all of that.
And you also have time to have or build everything on the season, it's not a really short period.
I'm happy to share my opinion with you, I hope you have an amazing day and week!

    Hey USfyreGaming,
I like the idea of allowing players to save a singleplayer copy of their island before resets happen, however I don't think this could be implemented for a few reasons. Firstly, I think it would be really hard to program and implement a way to save islands to a world file as they're a part of a larger server, and isolating islands would be really difficult. Another issue is how the mods on skyblock would act when translating over to vanilla minecraft. Things such as custom enchants and spawners wouldn't work the same way in single player as they would on MCC. There's also an issue of server lag which is pretty self explanatory...if hundreds of players were trying to save their islands at once it might just crash the server.

When new content is added it could change the way that islands work, and therefore would mean people's islands have no way to receive the new content in this hypothetical situation. It's always great to hear when someone is proud of their Skyblock island because it is difficult to make what you want in this gamemode. But as mentioned it would be very difficult to code; not to mention the file size uploading these islands to be downloaded would be insane!
Hope this gave some insight! :)

Skyblock is already getting boring as it is rn, reset is in May/June and the start of a new season is always so fun, grinding and seeing what new has been added!
As many people have said reset means that if new players join they aren’t years behind other islands and it makes competition more fun!

Have a great day, Stolsie <3

    Hey there!
I certainly think being about to download your own skyblock island would be great, but as the others mentioned, it would be practically impossible to do so without the whole server crashing. Why does skyblock reset? The main reason the subservers reset is not only to add new features and new maps, or because people got bored, but because the virtual economy gets exhausted after a while, and it becomes far too easy for players to make money, they don't need to do anything. Once players have enough spawners and have bought a Harvest Hoe, they've got everything they need to make money, and barely need to put any effort in. When skyblock resets, it's great for everyone, a fresh new start to try different things with your island and have fun starting again.

I remember a few seasons back I didn't play too much, but I had about 153mil, simply because I worked hard enough to get about 300 magma spawners and bought a chunk loader. This was happening for far too many people, and it made new players find it so difficult to gets started, because its really slow making money to begin with, and when everything sells for a high price, it's hard to get your feet off the ground.

Once again, I'd love to be able to download skyblock words to use for singleplayer purposes, but as mentioned, it would be far too difficult, and would just be easier to take photos and re do it the same.

    Hey USfyreGaming!
I strongly agree with the skyblock resets. The main reason is for new players to have a chance to have a fresh start and aim towards the island tops. If there weren't any resets, the islands that started, in the beginning, would be way too ahead, which makes new players give up and not play. Another reason for this is that eventually, it gets very boring towards the end of our seasons. Due to the richer islands, they would just be easily making money and watching their balance grow, knowing that no one can catch up. I know it does suck losing your awesome builds, but on the bright side, it is always interesting starting new islands and starting good conversations about the old ones. Good luck! -HorsePoo

Skyblock resets help keep the server balanced. It also allows for new things to be implemented. This reset is coming up, people have hypothesized it coming around late May to early June. I made a post about what I would like to see in Skyblock season #10 and I hope that the owners and admins do take into account that post. but i still do think that resets are very good for us. They help with overpowered people like @ArthurrrJ and can help smaller people who just started, get a chance at being a top island, becasue its not really fair if an island who has 1.5million island levels that started 4 months ago and a small level 10 island that started 2 days ago compete for a #1 spot.

no matter what there is always someone on top because of the effort put in or the team they have built. It takes hard work and dedication to get to the top and 4 months of hard work will get you there. People that are complaining about it are not willing to work for there stuff and want what other people have which just takes work to get. I have been is top on sb2 since like season 3 and it just takes work so for anyone that wants is too they need to work for it.

    Hey there!

As a member of the top island on Skyblock 1, I can tell you personally that the game gets very stale very fast. A reset gives the opportunity to have a fresh start and a new boost of motivation, and also allows you to try out new strategies, new teams, etc. Resets are also the time for the server owners to make balance changes and new updates towards the server, which really freshens up the game.

If you ever want to get a copy of your island, you can always use Schematica or a World Downloader mod. Both of those allow you to keep personal copies of your stuff if you ever want to use it for later.

Resets are a fantastic feature that keep the game fresh. It's a lot easier on you when you start the season at the beginning knowing it will reset eventually. Just see it as a chance to build something dope again!
