Hey guys, KyletheGuide here with a Question/Idea. So, at times, Chat in Prison, or, well, chat in general can become very annoying an sometimes gets in the way, so I was thinking that there should be an interface that allows users to change their chat settings to only certain things, like PM's and stuff. (Dont start berading me on the Menu settings, i know about it) the reason i say this is because with chat settings in the Menu, it has only 3 options, Shown, Commands only, or Hidden. but when the chat is in the Hidden setting, it makes Commands unable to be done. I believe you're suggesting for a feature that allows you to type commands without seeing chat at all? I know you mentioned PMs as well, but there is a solution to hiding the entire chat. If you go to "Chat Settings" and turn the Scale from 100% to OFF, then chat is hidden completely and you can still use commands. I don't think there's a reason to add this feature for something like only seeing private messages. There simply isn't a good enough reason. Chat is fast, but you can still see red text that distinguishes private messages. I hope you see what I mean by this, but more important plugins could be added instead of this. I don't think this will get added, but I hope you use the suggestion I mentioned above for ignoring chat.
ok, thank you! i didnt mean ONLY PM's, i said that as an example, like, only when your name pops up in chat or someone PM's you, or you get a TP request, thats what i meant. thank you tho! i didnt know about the scale! XD
Hey Alansar, I understand where you're coming from. Often on busy servers chat becomes an annoying whirlwind at the bottom of your screen. Perhaps another solution to this issue could be localizing chat on servers. By this, I mean that when a player chats it would only be visible to players in the same area. For instance, if someone chatted at /warp a on prison, only players currently in that mine would be able to see it. This currently is implemented on ArenaPvP to keep chat messages from distracting players in matches. Let me know what you think! - Mike
