Yesterday, I got muted for "spamming". Today, i saw somebody not just spamming, but scamming in Prison. I'm pretty sure thats legal though. But he was spamming the chat to the point where you couldnt see a thing. Yesterday, i did a message every 10-15 seconds which i admit, is a bit much. But this person was doing a message every 5 seconds, and somehow my report get denied. What?
I assume you chat reported the player since a screenshot report would've been accepted if the message was sent 3 times in one chat box. In this case, you can always ask why it the CR was denied as the CR has the real-time time stamps. You may have thought it was every 5 seconds when in fact it wasn't. Screenshot reports don't show time stamps unless you have a mod that does so for chat.
Hey hey, it really depends on the staff that punished you. However, the most likely reason is that, based off the timestamps of your messages, it seemed like you were spamming to them. When you're chatreported, the whole chat isn't saved, so staff have to base possible punishments off of your lone timestamps. For example, if a staff sees that you've sent 3+ similar messages within a short timeframe, then they may assume that you were spamming. Hey! I Just checked the CR that got you muted. You were indeed spamming. If you feel like you've been falsely punished, then feel free to create an appeal. Unfortunately, I am unable to check the CR of the other player you are talking about, since you didn't provide any names. In forum reports, we punish based on what we see on the chatbox. We, however, deal with CRs based on time-stamps. The time difference between the first message and the third message varies with each staff, so you may encounter a staff member who sees 3 messages in less than 30 seconds as spam, while another staff member sees 3 messages in less than 20 seconds spam.
