Has anyone noticed how hackers memorize staff names? Often times when I report a hacker in solo skywars and a staff member will have to get on an alt to catch them. Even without chatting the players see their name and leave the game. It's weird... Are the hackers finally gaining knowledge?

I mean if I was to be a hacker, I’d do everything in my power not to get banned for it. Maybe they aren’t memorising there names though, writing them down somewhere accessible sure but I feel like it could also be pure coincidence

Yeah, I’ve noticed this too. I feel like hackers have a general idea on whose staff because it’s always/usually the same ones going to SSW to deal with them. In addition, some hackers are ban evading/using a VPN, so that could contribute to their recognition of staff, as they’ve been banned or seen them before.

On a side note, I’ve wondered if the hackers are on the MCC discord, and that’s how they’re being alerted that a staff member is on their way. There has been one instance where a hacker actually replied to me in supports, but it doesn’t frequently happen, so I’m not sure.

Thanks for bringing this up, and have a good day :)

    Hey there, Spiriten!

I doubt hackers would memorize staff names to avoid being caught, but as MightyMammioth said, it wouldn't entirely surprise me if they did. If you see a hacker and you want to ensure they get banned, get evidence through a recording and file a hacker report at https://mccentral.org/community/forums/reports/.

    Have a nice day!

Hello, I highly doubt they memorize staff as for they log on every day on a new account so I don't think they would really care, you might just get unlucky like they might be flying and get kicked or something

    Bye bye

Yeah, I have about 100 reports accepted, I've been doing that. Thank you for the suggestion though!

Well, I've noticed it's with specifics. They don't care if it is a helper, but they dash if it is a mod+. I find this a little bit hard to be a coincidence on a lot of these cases.

I actually have an answer to this. I used to talk to a guy whos usernames was like LunarLKP or something. One day, after he got banned on MCC for hacking he started messaging me about the things he did to evade as long as possible. He watched #support and when people did call him out he would wait about half an hour before relogging. Theres much more he did, but I'm not going to list it right now.

I think in some of these cases, like this, they do actually watch the support channel

Hackers do memorize staff members' names, this has occurred to me many times as I was staff and they weren't afraid to admit that they were hackers. They usually just troll you if they recognize you, but I can see hackers doing this to evade bans as it's quite easy to find staff members in a game.

    Hey,
I think that they hack on the server so much they know which staff have banned them on their old accounts and stuff like that, they could also be on the mcc discord and look at the member list to look at all the staff igns so they can avoid them. I would play skywars all the time if it wasn't for all the hackers. Have a great day!

This is nothing new. Most of the people you see blatantly cheating are ban evading and just keep hopping on new accounts / vpns, so they usually get banned enough to a certain point where they become somewhat familiar with the people on the staff team and the people who tend to submit a lot of reports.

I cannot speak for other staff members, but a lot of the time I have to resort to going on alt accounts to catch hackers ingame. I've seen it nearly every day myself- I'll fight people in an SG game and they literally cannot aim their mouse, and when I hop on my alt, they're using 10 block reach/killaura and bhopping.

When people tag me in #support for hackers, most of the time I don't even go on my main- I hop straight onto an alt and track them down because like stated above, a lot of them watch #support. I also have to go to pretty far lengths to keep my alts anonymous (even from my friends), which gets really annoying.

For these reasons, I think it's imperative that a disguise feature is added for us staff members, as I should not have to go through such a hassle to do my job. I know other staff members besides myself go through this as well and have to do the same as I do. It's a topic that's been talked about a lot recently, and I think it's needed more now than ever, considering the current state of the server.

I cannot promise anything or any future updates as I don't know anything about that but I'm staying hopeful along with the rest of you that we get a feature like this soon. I know it's been brought up to admins and they've stated themselves that it's something on their radar, so all we can do is wait and see what we get.

    Hello Spiriten,

Say a player was autoclicking on their main account, they would remember the username of the staff member who punished them for doing so. So IF they chose to get on an alt account and autoclick on that account, they would remember the staff member who punished them, or be more careful around staff members.

I have met some players who like to troll staff members and "test" their ability as staff. They will go onto alt accounts, turn on a VPN that bypasses the system, then hack right in front of them or hack behind their back to see how long it would take them to catch them. This is suprisingly a normal thing that happens. People who also main the server tend to call out staff members in chat, so if someone is hacking they would know a staff member is on after that.

When I was a staff member after I was done with my reqs. I chose to use an alt account, so I could get the players who were hacking that were "hiding" from staff in order to get them banned. It made it a whole lot easier for me, so I could get rid of the hackers in the game.

Have a nice day or night! -Lauran (Composures)

    Hey Spirten,

For sure they do mark down Staff Member names. Actually, speaking of which, whilst I was staff, I was informed that a Blacklisted User that tends to evade on factions actually has a client feature that notifies him whenever a Staff Member is in-game. I'm confident it's connected to the Staff Team List or such. As I was a very well-known Staff Member, it was super common for cheaters to leave matches I was in. Not only this but it was so difficult to watch cheaters cheat since I was known in-game by a lot of cheaters. Being on reports team doesn't help the case either, especially with 1000s of bans on my account, I'm for sure targeted. (At least I've experienced this but) I've also joined many games after my demotion from the Team and have seen multiple times people leave as they already assume I'm still staff.

For the record, when applying, it's nice to not be as well known as I used to be. Sometimes it comes with downfalls, especially when helping in support or helper reports. I never went onto my alt account to watch cheaters, cause that's just to much of a hassle, but it would've been useful in MANY scenarios. Also something Ant mentioned, "/nick for staff", it'd be an amazing feature to be discussed/added but it's pretty imperative that Mini-games won't be receiving any revamps anytime soon so best suggestion is using any alts as Lauran stated.
