I think it would be cool to "modernize" the player owned shops and have a new shop command ex: /shop Toast732. This would be like a mix between the auction, the chest shops and /shop. How it works: Using /shop (username) would bring up a menu much how /shop looks, you can buy, and or sell depending on how the owner of the shop set it up. When buying or selling it will take or deposit into the chest the owner of the shop set it up to. Features: - Multiple chests to the same item - 30 item limit (can be increased by perks, prestige or upgrading like skyblock island upgrades) - Change Prices - Buy/sell a custom amount of items Improvements: - More user friendly than chest shops - Easily change prices without rewriting entire signs - Less lag (big profit shops lag due to masses of signs) - Can be accessed from anywhere - The chests can have hoppers attached and working Why it should be implemented: By upgrading to virtual shops there would be less lag due to massive sign shops moving to the much simpler and user friendly option. Also finding a chest that is not full would be eliminated unless all of the chests are actually filled up because now hoppers work with them, as well as multiple chests. Also, if this works out well for prisons it would seem like a good idea to roll out the shop to other sub server as well to cut down on lag. Conclusion: Adding this may be a difficult task but I think it would be good in the long run if this was implemented, Please pitch your thoughts and ideas in the comments.
I would personally +1 this idea of having a "player shop" just like the ah since it does reduce the lag and you are right that "big chest shops" or "big profit shops" tend to have a ton of lag due to there being tons of signs and chests. This could have the chance to prevent "scammers" since you will be seeing what you are buying and how much since I play prisons2 and buying armor is sometimes very fishy since you never know what kind of armor it is and also when people do chest shops they just buy a lot of items at once and could lose 250k since they was not careful. I personally believe this owuld be more friendly to the community and it would be interesting to see this addded into the game for skyblock, factions, prisons, and survival. I also wanna point out that you said chests can have hoppers sttached and working and honestly if this did get added and hoppers was to work then it would make chests shop so much easier since with chest shops you can not have hoppers attached or they will not work at all so this would help out people with chests shop so much.
Yes, although because scamming is allowed I didn't put it in there cause I didn't want (prevents scamming) to be the main idea instead made it less lag so its more likely to be added
If you even said it "prevents scamming" like that isn't the main focus of what you just said if we wanna be serious. The idea you had did the following... 1. Reduces Lag 2. Reduces Scammers 3. Efficient 4. Quick and Easy
hey toast! although i feel like it could potentially eliminate some scamming, i feel like it could be a hassle to some players who are used to the way it works now. along with, a lot of players don’t necessarily know the ign of the shop owner and use plot aliases like “/p h store” and others like that. I think with ah already existing, i don’t see a huge need for it, as the auction house is more global and doesn’t zone in on one player. since profit shops mainly benefit newer players and the shop owner, requiring a specific ign to be able to “visit” the store could be a small issue. if, say, people could “alias” their shop, things like “/shop shop” could get kinda whack imo. overall, i don’t see it as a bad idea, but i also don’t agree that it would need to be added // -1 have a lovely day :)
I agree with puposaurus. I think it could be cool if implemented correctly, but I do not think it's necessary. First of all, I like physical shops and they encourage people to build. As for the lag, sure, some sellshops have really bad lag, but your only there for a minute at most, and I don't see a reason to spend a bunch of time trying of fix the lag. If your plot is next to one, the chests aren't rendered anyways. Having a 30 item limit would also not be a good thing. Also, for example, item stacking in the GUI wouldn't work with things like kit gear, because they're all categorized as Diamond_Helmet etc. (unless there is some backend item ID I am unaware of) it would make it so coal gear was the same price as immortal gear in a kitshop. I have been playing for over 4 seasons and there has never been a need for a "modernized" shop system. That's not to say I wouldn't be against an updated Sellshop system in the future, I just don't think a GUI is the right way to go about it. Overall, it's unnecessary and too complicated to replace a time-tested system that's been good enough for a very long time. Thanks for reading my opinion :) Have a wonderful day!
Thanks for writing your opinion to my idea, my main reason is for this is to allow people to easily update prices, for those who have massive chest shops. If they rank up and the average prices increased for selling, they have to change 1000+ signs just to increase the profit by like. 1-2k, about the kits problem though. I forgot to add organizable shops eg: shop>kits>Immortal and then you can buy it there, the 30 item limit was just another idea to make sure that shops don’t get too unorganized but I see why that could be a nuisance, thanks for your reply!
